How does this rum taste?
What stands out most in the No. 50 PM is its pronounced cherry and tropical fruit character, with several reviewers captivated by a rich bouquet of dried and candied fruits, caramel, and woody spice. Many enjoy sipping it slowly to appreciate the nuanced flavors that reflect over three decades in cask, while others highlight its balance despite cask strength. Limited to just 50 bottles, it’s a must for those seeking rare and impressively aged Guyana rum.

Truly an anniversary bottling. Lots of cherry on the nose, along with tropical fruit and some spices. Candied fruit provides the sweetness. A real fruit bouquet of tropical and dried fruits on the palate. Here you can also taste the longstanding wood/barrel influence, but in a pleasant strength. There is also caramel and spices. The finish is again very fruity with light wood notes. Grandiose bottling!
#5491 05.07.2025 Relaxing after picking up a few boxes of yum yum rum. Nose Fresh, wood, faint roasted, light plum, pencil shavings, light polish, medium intense, Palate Warm, medium intense, balanced, light spicy, light polish, light plum, wood, faint smoke, light pencil shavings, light dry, faint cherry. Finish Long, light spicy, wood, light tannins, light prunes, balanced, faint caramel. Empty glass Prunes, light cherry, light caramel, faint polish.
Fresh but still mature. This 32 year old PM doesn't compare to its old school brethren (not by a long shot) ... but it's still quite a nice rum. However, I don't agree with the high scores with a 9 in front - especially in view of the difference to its cousins from the 70s.
Nice choice made for the No.50 I was a little skeptical at first after pouring, as it was quite light in color for the time it had been in the barrel. What I like is the interplay of aromas. The wood is not too dominant, which one would have expected given the storage time. A good companion to the cigar.
