New Yarmouth RA Jamaica Rum 1994

Zweite Verkostung mit gesunder Nase und ein wenig Oxidation in der Sampleflasche: Der Alko sticht an der Nase und die röstigen Noten sind stärker als beim ersten Tasting. Deutlicher funkiger als RX1563 - aber nicht jung, spritzig funky sondern alt, ehrwürdig funky 😉 Am Gaumen wieder recht präsenter Alkohol. Gefällt mir in Summe ein wenig besser als die Abfüllung von 2020 (+0,1) Kleines Vergleichs-Tasting mit den beiden 94er New Yarmouth von Rum Artesanal: Farbe im Glas: identisch, die aktuelle Abfüllung ist eventuell eine Spur heller als RX1563. Interessant sind auch die Fassnummern: 203 und 204 sind in RX1563 aufgegangen, RX24450 hat Fassnummer 205. Das deutet darauf hin, dass die Fässer zeitgleich bei Heinz Eggert eingekauft wurden. Nase: Bourbon, Ester, Früchte, intensiver als RX1563, sonnst große Ähnlichkeit Gaumen: nach ca. 2 Sekunden verspüre ich eine "Fruchtkick" (den finde ich bei RX1563 nicht) sonnst sehr ausgewogen, wieder Bourbon, Kokos, Alkohol ist präsent Nachklang: lang und sehr ausgewogen, keine Bitterkeit Ich bin kein großer Fan der 94er New Yarmouths aber diese Abfüllung ist m.M.n. mindestens so gut wie RX1563! Ich muss die Verkostung wiederholen da heute meine Sensorik von einer beginnenden Erkältung beeinträchtigt ist. Der erste Eindruck und der geforderte Preis reicht aber bereits für eine Empfehlung. p.s. Ich konnte keine Kräuternoten finden 😉

Palate Oily, intense, wood, light roasted, nutts, clove, balanced, raisin, light coffee, fruity, mango, light coconut, glue, ester. Finish Very long and warm, wood, roasted, light coffee, banana, faint citrus. Empty glass Light nutts, light coconut, caramel, mango, cinnamon. Needs to rest for a while to really open up properly.

Wieder mal ein hervorragender Vertreter der mittlerweile (auf Rumx 42) verschiedenen NY94. Der Alkohol ist etwas präsent, aber sonst keine Fehlnoten. Für den Preis wirklich unschlagbar!

Excellent representative of the 1994 New Yarmouths! An extremely pleasant sweetness, great barrel influence and an eternal finish that simply makes you want to take the next sip. A fantastic bottling for the Christmas season! 🎄💯

Another 94 New Yarmouth... The alcohol is unfortunately very present, especially in the taste, and doesn't integrate any better even after 30 minutes of breathing. Aromatically, I also find this NY rather one-dimensional and not nearly as complex as other top representatives of this vintage. I primarily taste a light wood acidity, herbs, nutmeg, dark chocolate, strong bourbon notes, glue and some lime, coconut and esters. I cannot understand the current extremely high ratings. The Distilia mizunara px cask is much better and more exciting here, as is the fine Drams new Yarmouth 94.

Edit: even after the second tasting, the alcohol really hits. It's really extremely poorly integrated. If it weren't for the great nose, it would end up even further down. First impression: the nose is very, very good, but unfortunately the taste is still too alcoholic for me, which prevents it from getting a better rating. But we'll have to wait and see what the second tasting brings.

Ein weiterer 94er New Yarmouth…dieser Jahrgang verspricht fast immer Genuss pur.. so auch dieses mal..allerdings mit einer leichten Einschränkung… der Alkohol ist nicht perfekt eingebunden.. das verhindert jedoch nicht das zu erwartende Aromenspiel… sofern man nur kleine Schlücke auf die Zunge verteilt. Ohne dieses Manko, wäre er perfekt. Er kann durchaus mit den anderen mithalten. Gemessen am Preis für mich eine Empfehlung

Mature New Yarmouth with depth, but somewhat hampered by a persistent alcoholic sharpness. On the nose, vanilla and coconut with dried fruit and wood, but always accompanied by a noticeable sharpness. Dense and concentrated on the palate with spice and dried fruit, oak, but the alcohol remains present and lingers into the finish, where it detracts somewhat from the profile's elegance. Other 1994s show more calm and balance here. Nevertheless, a solid bottling with very good value for money.

The 94 is initially very pungent with sweet aromas from the barrel and vanilla. Also pungent alcohol on the palate, creamy and slightly roasted. Fruit with lots of sweetness. But also a play of acidity at the back. Quite a good bottling for the price.

Wirklich erfreulich, für den Preis einen so alten Jamaikaner zu bekommen. Zu alt ist der damit nicht mal, man muss nicht fürchten, dass das Holz alles dominiert. Leider muss ich mich aber den "Beschwerden" über den spürbaren Alkohol anschließen.

Great 1994 New Yarmouth, beautiful bottling. Much rounder, deeper and more character than the FRC 1994. Dark fruits, but also a lot of funk and fermented fruits and esters - but very well integrated, offers a great experience from nose to palate Thanks to Michael for opening the bottle ❤️

Once again a top 94 New Yarmouth. Right from the start it is äsest and beautifully intense. Like the other representatives, it likes to have 20-30 minutes in the glass to open up completely. Then it becomes beautifully creamy and a good bit softer. The rum is really fun and is also fair for the price.

Klassisches NY 94 Profil. Die Nase ist sehr gelungen mit Kokosnuss, Gebäck, Röstaromen und Aprikose. Am Gaumen dann nicht so cremig wie erwartet. Viel Kokosnuss und Bourbon. Vanille und Röstaromen. Etwas schärfe. Abgang dann ähnlich. Ich hätte mir etwas mehr Körper und Komplexität gewünscht. Insgesamt zu aggressiv am Gaumen.

I'm really impressed this time around with the 31-year-old NewYarmut. I find the palate extremely complex and long, full of apricots, raisins, coconut and wood. At the end, pepper appears in the taste. Compared to other bourbon agings, I find it slightly sweeter. Anyway, the taste is very harmonious and the alcohol is well integrated.

Wow, this is a great New Yarmouth 1994. The abv is really high and I can notice it clearly, and despite being intense this rum is really open and the tastes are coming out of the glass easily. This being so "open" and almost bright is one of the highlights of this rum, which makes it stand out compared to other rums of the same vintage.
