How does this rum taste?
RumX members love this chocolate-forward Port Mourant: aromas of hazelnut, praline and buttery pastry lead to a palate of woody spice, burnt sugar and milk chocolate. Often enjoyed neat, with a long, slightly bitter finish noted by some. At 62.9% cask strength, a few found the alcohol a touch hot, but overall it’s a tasty 2012 pot still selection, limited to 342 bottles, with 12 reviews and buyer confidence building.

All the makings of a great one! A nose of chocolate (the most chocolatey rum I've ever smelled, I think) and praline, you'd think you were starting your afternoon tea with a good spread. On the palate, initially quite sweet, butterscotch, woody, dark chocolate, and some fruit, I think vine peach, then the finish rises to a more tobacco, roasted, and spicy side. Halfway between Belize and Guyana, if someone had told me it was a Blend it wouldn't have shocked me. Big blast! Glad I got my pack.
Ersteindruck: Sehr leckerer, schokoladiger Port Mourant.
