Un beau nez chaud, ample et riche avec des fruits tropicaux, un côté gourmand et pâtissier et des flaveurs d’atelier mécanique. Le bois est bien intégré et je sens un petit côté métallique. La première bouche est un peu diluée, les fruits prennent de l’ampleur, puis tout redescend assez rapidement. Une bouche clairement en deçà du nez. La finale est plutôt courte, surtout pour un Caroni, et des notes boisées, amères et métalliques prennent le dessus sur quelques notes fruitées, pâtissières et gourmandes. On sent tout à la fin de l’atelier mécanique, mais sans les fruits, il semble trop sec. Le verre vide remet tout le monde d’accord. La bouteille vient d’être ouverte et ce rhum gagnera sûrement des points avec de l’oxydation.
