Tasted at the Rumfest between 2 exceptional vintages. This little Worthy Park-Fidji blend has managed to make its mark in the most beautiful way. I see it as a dessert where the fruity Jamaican becomes a caramelized vanilla baked apple, a pineapple roasted in butter and flambéed. And to give depth to it all, petrochemical notes like tar. I ordered it as soon as it came out!
Tasted quickly at Rhum Fest Paris, then at home with a sample. A leather and coconut nose, perhaps a little straight, but a superb texture on the palate, with big burnt sugar and citrus. A finish of butter, tar and roasted almonds. If I had to give a price-quality ratio, this one would really be top of the line, I think! Potential purchase to come ;)
Famille Ricci Unique Blend X-Tasting #4: The Jamaican and Fijian components are clearly discernible and harmonize beautifully. Tropical fruits as well as wood and roasted aromas. Burnt sugar provides the sweetness. The finish lasts forever.
Tasted during an important line-up, rather brief notes. A very fine blend in which the characteristics of the 2 origins are well represented. A lovely blend. Taste again for more detailed notes.
