Phew... this is already strong tobacco on its own, the alcohol bites hard. Nevertheless, fruit and spice flavors also come through. Amazing... but I also have it in my glass more for mixing. And it comes through quite well there 👍🏻
Perfect for cocktails! But pure is not to my taste.
Now this one is a hammer to your palate. Though the proof is super high, Plantation has managed to create a very well balanced rum. You may need a few drops of water, but I just left it to rest for 30 minutes and it was great. Fruity and spices all the way through and a very warm and strong finish. I was very surprised at how well the alcohol was integrated in this rum! Definitely worth the price.
Tasted 29-01-2016 When I first tasted this I gave it a really bad tasting notes due to not understanding the place an overproofs has in a bar line up . Not revisited as been long replaced but due to other issues with Maison ferrand (Barbados GI)it can go to the bottom of my list .
