To be honest, I'm definitely warming to this type of rum. The smell was still okay to some extent. But the taste reminded me too much of a smoky, peaty whisky rather than rum. That's just not my thing, so I simply can't give it a good rating if I don't like it. Drinkable with cola o.k.
Pleasant nose with rather little fruit and more spice. Reminiscent of a good Worthy Park on the palate with aromas of banana and black tea. Nicely spicy. A few more turns probably wouldn't have done it any harm. The finish is not particularly long. A nice piece, but one that is unlikely to be remembered.
Die Nase wirkt mal super einladend mit getrockneten tropischen Früchten, leicht rauchig und jodig, dezent Holz, etwas von Traubenzucker. Im Mund dann etwas grünes, leichte Bitterkeit, Gemüse, Tabak, Zuckerbonbons, rauchig. Nicht schlecht aber so recht passt das Mundgefühl und Geschmack leider nicht. Kann tatsächlich an den Whiskyeinfluss liegen. Er hat die typische Vielschichtigkeit aber mag nicht so recht überzeugen, wie andere des Jahrgangs. Abgang empfinde ich ebenfalls als eher kurz.
Wow, unique scent. I haven't been so pleasantly surprised in a long time. The taste is again an original mix of sweetness, fruit, herbs, peat whisky and spices. There's also some chemistry present that makes it even more interesting to me.
