How does this rum taste?
RumX members love how this high-ester blend floods the nose with overripe tropical fruit, banana and buttery, pastry-like notes. On the palate it brings pineapple, banana and esters with good heat and a touch of chocolate in the finish. Some find it a bit sharp or flat neat, but many call it an “ultimative Ester Mixer” that shines with citrus sodas and in bold cocktails.

I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 270,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.

In my opinion, there are far better swells out there. Jamaica is recognizable here, but somehow it doesn't work. We have banana and pineapple here, but also ester again, but somehow it doesn't pick me up.
Blend that works not too badly. The whole is quite gourmand with notes of pastry, milk chocolate, butterscotch and fruity banana pineapple papaya. Some pep with a little ester. I'm still more enthusiastic about the Jamaican blend that I tasted after this one.
3. GAF Stuttgart
Last tasting on the Swell stand at RhumFest Paris 2025. We finish with a lovely blend that pleasantly blends esters and ripe Jamaican fruit with sweeter, rounder notes. It works rather well.
