Swell de Spirits Hampden On Tour Series #8 (Limoges Spirits Festival) 2025
Full-on funky, fruity and creamy Hampden with classic kick.
RumX members call this a classic Hampden blend: plenty of pineapple, funk, and esters, with spice, wood, and a creamy mouthfeel. Sharp alcohol and subtle bitterness divide drinkers—one to try if you’re drawn to ripe, funky spirits.

How does this rum taste?
This Swell de Spirits Hampden blend sent waves through the RumX crowd for its “volle Ladung Funkiness” (Thunderbird) and pronounced ester-laden fruit. Pineapple, ripe tropical banana, and “la grosse claque d’esters” (TheJackDrop) set the tone, carried by spicy wood and a touch of vanilla. Several find the funk well-balanced with creamy sweetness, but mentions of acidity, “un peu trop d’amertume” (BnBrt), and assertive alcohol show it’s not all mellow. Still, the long finish and classic Hampden signature are clear standouts.

I love this blend of fermented tropical fruits, esters and spices. That's exactly my thing, Mika hit the bull's eye with the blend of C<>H (2007 Bar 1802) and the <>H 2013 Eastern Tales. I don't really notice the finish in the Guyana cask, I might have to taste the two rums in the blend again individually. The rum has a great creaminess on the palate and an eternally long finish. Only the alcohol is a little too sharp, but it still scores 90 points for me.
This cuvée is a really brilliant ester bomb! From the moment you pour it into the glass, you can perceive the intense aromas throughout the room. From nose to finish, tropical fruits, esters, wood and spices are perfectly combined and the alcohol is excellently integrated.
Hat für meinen Geschmack deutlich zu voel Säure im Mix … sowohl an der Nase als auch am Gaumen. Aber ansonsten sind alle relevanten Aromen da und der Gaumen hat (neben besagter Säure) eine tolle Süße.
