How does this rum taste?
The Chairman‘s Reserve Master’s Selection (Cask & Bottle) from Saint Lucia delivers a distinctive sensory journey. Our RumX community notes its compelling bouquet of woody spice, bitter orange, and tropical fruit, accented by a hint of glue. On the palate, layered notes of leather, baked apple, and mature fruits evolve beautifully. Despite its robust, cask strength nature, enthusiasts appreciate its unique character and balance developed over 13 years of aging. With only 170 bottles in existence, this limited release offers a rare opportunity for rum lovers to experience a deeply personal expression of St. Lucia’s rum heritage.

I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
Good quality as always from Chairman’s out of St. Lucia. However, this bottling was the weakest of the evening. It just feels a bit „damp“ compared to other Master‘s Selection bottlings. Presumably there have just been to many different stills and casks involved over all. Still a very good rum but not in the very top bracket of what SLD can do.
Frankonian Tasting Gang - 21.03.2025 - Nürnberg: Fünf Chairman‘s Reserve in kleinem Cross Tssting.
