The "Select Cask First Edition C<>H" was produced in Jamaica at the Hampden distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Navy Island. It was distilled in 2007 from Molasses with a Pot Still and then aged for 10 years. The rum has an ABV of 51,2% and the mark is C<>H. This is a limited release and there are only 1288 bottles. 25 community members rated this rum with an average of 7.9/10. Got this 5cl sample as a gift from RhumAttitude when ordering some other bottles. It’s a little like the 8yo releases from Hampden, but a little less heavy, esters rich and funky. It’s a blend from three different casks and is very smooth for a Jamaican pot still.
Nice C<>H that doesn't overwhelm. The low %% makes it suitable for Hampden beginners, who would otherwise be put off by the high cask strengths. Delicious sipper with a slightly sour note in the finish.
