Tasted this high proof spiced rum at my recent visit to the Grenada Distillers Ltd (GDL). The nose is smooth, spicy, woody and sweet. At the palate it’s mild, smooth, spicy, sweet, woody and rather balanced with flavors of nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, ginger, pepper and vanilla. The finish is medium long and smooth.
Sample received from a good (whisky) friend. Not a big fan of the nose and palate of this one. The nose is sweet and fruity, but not great. The palate carries the same theme, but it's rather hot and rough. Not my cup of tea.
