This is a much better rum than the LBI/DHE edition ! Green Apple, Kiwi, 😋 Star fruit, Apricot, Almonds, Cardamon and Earl Grey Tea. The aftertaste is long and delicious.
Superb extension of the previous LBI/DHE 2012 blend, although I personally preferred the predecessor overall. However, there is definitely more "high ester" here and, accordingly, more complexity and aroma density! Here, pencil shavings, fully ripe papaya, and tart, sweet, furry kiwi meet licorice, burnt sugar, cola syrup, molasses, and slightly medicinal notes. The alcohol is perfectly integrated, highly complex, and absolutely exciting. I'm excited to see what else El Dorado comes out with in the future! :)
Auto-translatedIt’s an enjoyable one. Nose brings kiwi and caramel with some leather. The mouth is complex with papaya and earthy sweetness. Finish is spicy and nutty with awaken and pleasant finish. The woody elements of the PM really pop here, I wouldn’t say it’s truly a high ester rum however it’s a top and easy drinking DDL! Great sipper
Tried at UK RumFest so not a detailed tasting.
