#5698 20.09.2025 Tasting with the guys and I really like it. Nose Fresh, smooth, light citrus, vegetal, floral, spice, faint smoke, vanilla, light sugarcane. Palate Naturally sweet, round, oily, velvety, light spice, floral, vegetal, balanced, light grass, sugarcane. Finish Medium long, fresh, oily, sugarcane, light citrus, light floral, velvety. This is a very well balanced and smoot rum and I think most people will be able to appreciate it.
I used to underestimate Pere Labat rums: tastewise they were always good but did never make me fall in love, were they aged or not. This rhum shows an amazing work has been done. Maybe the new ownership (la Martiniqaise) and their investiments helped a bit, maybe not. My evaluation wont change.anyway, and it is really high. This is an amazing sipping rum. The nose is fresh and vibrant, with White Mint and Mirabelles dominating, plus some brine quickly fading. Maybe alcool stings a bit, but that's also because i dive my nose Deep into the glass. Tastewise, White Mint comes again along with some sugar-ey notes. Furthermore some spices, white pepper, add a few complexity
