“Long Pond: Mezan 2000 BDF (cask number 3 at 57.95%). 3 years of aging in the tropics and the rest in continental (15 years). To the nose we immediately feel that we are not on a Jamaican High Esters, and personally it does not bother me. Quite the contrary. But the aromatic profile is rather standard: ripe bananas, woody and spicy. With a touch of cinnamon. The nose is nice and makes you want to taste it. Let's go ! A first sip allows to efficiently coat the palate which is loaded with alcohol and bitterness. The second sip allows us to take advantage of this one: tropical fruits, spices and wood. Well, this jamaican is quite good. We are very far from the extreme Jamaican of the NRJ. And I prefer this type of rum less explosive. I validate.”
