This particular Caroni is lovely and definitely seems to play to my particular tastes as a person that does not buy a huge amount of colder climate matured Caroni, I prefer the bigger and bolder tropically matured bottlings. It leads with some kola nut before some Caroni shapeshifting between petrol, tar, oily wrag, wood, a little spice, light fruit and messy sweet notes begins. Great integration too. It all feels solid with nothing being too dominant or off kilter....alcohol, wood and distillate all getting along nicely. I really enjoyed it and I can't say that about a lot of cold climate Caroni
A really great Caroni overall. This is one you buy to open, not to collect. It’s just something that should be shared and enjoyed because it’s a fantastic rum. The mix of notes is interesting, unique but somehow work together to create this melange of delicious flavours. While not the classic “rough and dirty” Caroni, this is more enjoyable for those who are looking for a rum to enjoy rather than boast the name. Price point is fantastic in this market and clearly a lot of effort was put in by the Bedford Park team in selecting.
