How does this rum taste?
- Distinct sweet and spiced aroma
- Versatile for creative cocktails
- Unique production style from Mexico
El Ron Prohibido Habanero Solera 12 is a Mexican rum distilled from molasses using a column still and aged for under 12 years. It delivers a rich aroma of caramel, barrel, vanilla, and coffee with a bold alcoholic note. Our community on RumX has shared mixed impressions: while some appreciate its caramelized sweetness and spice complexity, others feel it leans too heavily on alcohol, making it more suited for cocktails than neat sipping. The diverse tasting notes of vanilla and raisin add an interesting twist, inviting rum lovers to explore creative mixes.

"Nice bottle, rum earns sufficiency, but is to be avoided for a tasting."

"Tried another experiment with mixing, but this one didn't really convince me either. In my opinion, it's not really convincing on its own. As I said, I mainly bought it as a mixer, but I'm probably a bit spoiled and can no longer pour everything into the CubaLibre."

"Maggi, mocha, spice, gasoline. Phew, the nose is independent but special. Unfortunately then quite strangely alcoholic, spicy sweetness, burnt raisin. I don't enjoy it, but it could be fun to shake in tikis. Addendum: No. Even the Bacardi Carta Negra is better. I don't know how this can stay on the market. Burnt, too sweet and fizzy at the same time."
