It was distilled in 2000 from Molasses with a Pot Still and then aged for 23 years. The rum has an ABV of 54,8% and the mark is LROK. I got a bottle of this rum over the holidays and my partner and I absolutely loved it! Tasted as part of a Bedford Park line up and I thought this might be the best rum I've tasted (the best of 2024 at least). Looking forward to see what 2025 brings!
Magnificent rum. The LROK in combination with the French oak is really a stunning combination. This mid level ester has some really good fruit notes and depth upon depth. Some smoke, some vanilla, some leather. Some pineapple, over ripe banana. It’s got a lasting finish. Moreish. Unique. Lovely. Pungent. Quite frankly a brilliant rum.
I am a massive Hampden fan and this one is my favourite Hampden I have ever tried. Good amount of funk on the nose but balances out on the palate. Amazing!
Nearly as close to perfect as you can get. Absolutely adore the flavours here - the French oak is a lovely touch. Given this is Hampden LROK, everything has come together nicely and the cask / spirit interplay so well. A must buy for a rum nerd like myself.
