By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 46,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
It doesn't always have to be Jamaica if you are looking for clearly pronounced esters. These are also beautifully showcased here and harmonize very well with the dry oak aromas of the cask. A great rum that gives me great pleasure.
This is maybe not the average PM. It starts high in esters, but gets sweet and heavy, even a bit stinky, later. If you like that, it's highly recommended! Nose: quite appealing and, after breathing, rather lifted, but with some heavier elements that bring balance. Varnish, pineapple, melon, flower blossom, and a green note of tea. Then it gets sweeter on nougat and nuts, sugar, cookie dough, caramel/vanilla fudge. Maybe there is a hint of wood smoke. The more time it spends in the glass, the more fennel seed shows, plus a slight dirty edge. P: Nice balance between the cookie and sweet-related notes, and some darker and almost tarry notes. Fudge, dough, toffee, but also dark chocolate, nuts, a salty, almost peated edge. Less fruity, dried apricot. F: medium, pleasantly lingering, not getting harsh in any way. A continuation of the palate.
Nice and "stinky" PM
