To Samai
A very nice pot still rum with some rich and unusual berry flavors. Excellent for sipping as well as en daiquiri. Nose - smells like a molasses rum with a berry inflection. Light brown sugar, vanilla, a hint of red berries, just a little acetone Neat - medium bodied and a touch hot without water, but beautiful notes of light brown sugar, bubble gum, raspberry liqueur, and some well balance burbon barrel tones. A moderate addition of water tempers the heat into a cinnamon spice note and provides ample room for vanilla, brown sugar, and a light berry note to thrive. Daiquiri - oh my God the berries: raspberry, blueberry, boysenberry, cranberry, vanilla, bruleed sugar, and a slight yogurt note. As it warms, some wood and faint spice, mainly cinnamon. Exceptionally good.
The nose is rather discreet but pleasant. On the palate, notes of vanilla and wood. Good but not overwhelming.
