It was distilled in 2002 from Molasses with a Pot Still and then aged for 22 years. The rum has an ABV of 49,2%. Dégusté en fin de soirée, belles notes de fruits, de caramel, la typicité des Port Mourant est là, mais complètement arrondie et assagie par le fut de monbazillac : 13 ans de vieillissement qui se font sentir et qui plairont (ou pas du tout) aux amateurs. On perd ici l'armertume que je trouve souvent trop prononcée sur les vieux PM; et on perd surement en complexité sur les épices. Mais c'est très sympa comme produit.
Mais quelle surprise !! Ce jus est tout simplement énorme. C’est d’une rondeur remarquable, des arômes puissants, et super agréables en bouche. Bcp de vanille, une belle corbeille de fruits une pointe de caramel et des épices, de la noix et du chocolat Alcool parfaitement intégrée. On sent bien le passage de 2 ans en fut ex monbazillac. Ça apporte cette belle rondeur justement. Gros plaisir à déguster, et le seul regret est de n’avoir que 3cl 😍
