"The nose opens with very light esters, totally different from a Jamaican. Although the aromas are powerful from the outset, they are volatile and fade in the glass over time. The fruitiness is immediately very pleasant (fresh passion fruit), accompanied by a delicate woodiness that goes with a vanilla fragrance. A second nose brings out sweet spices (nutmeg, cinnamon) with a caramel background. Very seductive. The palate is well integrated with alcohol, but remains warm and comforting. The taste is surprisingly sweet, despite the indicated dosage of 0g/L. But this isn't the first time I've thought this about the Plantations/Planterays I've tasted. Despite their desire for transparency by displaying a 0 dosage for single casks, I still find their rums a little too sweet. In any case, very round. Accents of prune/apricot juice quickly emerge, with a rather noble woodiness. Above all, there are aromas of molasses and runny caramel. It lacks complexity compared to other rums I've tasted. But it makes up for it with a pleasant, comforting gourmand side. The finish is quite interesting, relatively long, but lacks depth and diversity (molasses and wood)."
"Here is the next rum in the Planteray series. This time from Fiji..again very successful..on the one hand very nice and fruity. Both on the nose and on the palate. Definitely a recommendation from me."
"Finally, there is the scent of rum. The previous Fiji after the coffee liqueur all the elements of rum were overshadowed. A fragrant blend of fruit, spice, eucalyptus and esters. Tastewise, quite uninteresting. I don't know if it's sweetened or if it's taken over the sweetness from the finish, but it doesn't sit well with me."
