How does this rum taste?
Reviewers love this balanced, fruit-forward T.D.L blend: ripe peach and mango meet minty freshness, caramelized sweetness, and a dark-chocolate richness on an oily, satisfying palate. Approachable at 57%, it shines neat after a little air. Well rated by 13 RumX reviewers, with some noting a shy nose at first or a shorter finish. A distinctive Trinidad profile from Vagabond Spirits that the community is growing confident in.

By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
Very restrained nose. Then nice warmth in the mouth. It has something dirty but overall a good balance. Lots of passion fruit in the mouth. Later, cassis and light mint are added. The finish is somewhat one-dimensional.
Bottle only opened. Good aeration of the glass for half an hour. The nose is rather recessed, not easy to get into, it's fruity on peach-mango, a little woody, caramelized sugar. Pleasant on the palate, I like the change from the tdl we might be used to. There's balance and continuity. The fruit remains on the peach-mango note, with a hint of sallowness and a roasted aspect, finishing with a bit of minty freshness coated in dark chocolate.
Notes from my blog : Nose: A little closed, next to the Utopia it seems much less promising. Peach, a toasty side perhaps or a roasted side in the background, a slight woody note... The relative freshness of the TDL is a little overshadowed by the chocolate and spices, but it's not too distracting. If I had to analyze only the mouth, I would maybe guess a Guyana, because it's very full-bodied.
