How does this rum taste?
The Jamaica "The Beast" II HLCF is a distinctive rum crafted at the Hampden distillery from molasses, distilled using a pot still, and aged for 26 years. Bottled by The Rum Cask, its potent ABV of 66.6% offers an engaging tasting experience. Intensely aromatic, it features tropical fruits, overripe notes, and pineapple, with underlying woody and ester tones. Its flavor profile showcases esters, tropical fruits, and olives, complemented by salty and sour hints. Many users appreciate its well-integrated high proof, fascinating complexity, and balanced wood influence, although some find the finish dry and bitter. This expression stands out among Hampden releases while offering a smoother, more rounded profile than its predecessor.

So at the request of NH43 my 1001 tasting. A bit difficult after the Caroni I had before. I think a second tasting must follow in any case. I hope I'm right with the smell and taste markers and it's not just my imagination. For me, it's another great bottling that came out of the cask neither too late nor too early. A nicely rounded piece with well-integrated alcohol. The rating may change a little on a second tasting.
The Beast II mit 26 Jahren lange gereift. Super angenehm! Erstklassig.
Yap, a successful bottling. The nose is still restrained. Nevertheless, there are scents reminiscent of savanna: vegetables, brine, olive and tropical fruit. On the palate, Jamaica on the one hand and something floral and perfumy on the other. It suits me very well and stands out in the profile of the many Hampden bottlings.
