How does this rum taste?
Reviewers are drawn to the distinctive red wine cask influence in the Santa Maria Voyage #01, with pronounced notes of sweet grape and floral freshness. Many mention its pronounced fruity character and liken the aroma to red wine with a touch of agricole style. Most enjoy this rum as a unique sipper, especially for fans of wine-finished spirits. Its limited availability and characteristic profile make it worth a try for adventurous palates.

Nose: Spanish style, I would say. But with lots of fruit, especially white grapes, sweetness, very pleasing. Gives the impression of a column still rum, not very complex. Palate: maple syrup, cask, mild Again I think I have a column still rum in my glass, probably from Central America. Alcohol content approx. 50% Very barrel-like finish All in all not my cup of tea but not bad either. Therefore 6.5 as my rating
Unfortunately, once again I can't say a good word about this rum. For me, it's another prime example of how you can completely finish off the basic ingredient. I can really only taste red wine here, unfortunately nothing more, the other notes are more than subtle in the background. Must have been a very wet cask. The rest simply sunk into the cola.
Sehr spannend! Fruchtige rote Traube, typische Agricole-Noten, aber nicht zu floral, Abgang mit Tanninen und Holz wie bei einem älteren Saint James. Für die niedrigen Prozente erstaunlich viel Geschmack und Komplexität.
Phew ... red wine on the nose. On the palate, the agricole notes that I don't like so much join in. It's also a little thin. Not bad in terms of craftsmanship (the wood is nice, for example), but it doesn't meet my taste across the board. Sorry.
