Another classic Hampden Funky Ester bomb. You can tell how young this bottling is, even if it's not the full alcohol bomb you'd expect from the ABV, it's untamed and wild. I really like that about this rum.
#4948 02.11.2024 Had a great tasting with Kim from Romdeluxe with both old and new releases. Nose Fresh, intense, ester, light glue, fruity, overripe, pineapple, faint chocolate, faint smoke, funky, light mint. Palate Intense, fresh, ester, faint wood, light glue, fruits, overripe, banana, faint chocolate, funky. Finish Long and warm, medium intense, medium dry, fruity, overripe, light pineapple, faint caramel, light chocolate. The empty glass has a light sour note to it with faint vegetal and citrus notes. This is a great rum and thus it has also been sold out on the day of release.
Ich bin ja ein Fan vom Mark HGML, sowohl von den alten, wie auch den jüngeren Jahrgängen mit dem hohen Alkoholvolumen. Dieser zählt zu den sehr Ungestümen . Ist er in der Nase noch typisch mit Estern, tropischer Frucht, leicht buttrig und Marzipan, beißt er am Gaumen anfangs schon ordentlich zu und benötigt seine Zeit um die Aromen frei zu geben. Von daher sind nur kleinste Schlücke möglich. Danach erscheinen die typischen HGML- Aromen. Sehr lecker, aber bei den hochprozentigen HGML‘s bleibt der RX13155 die Benchmark.
Trotz des jungen Alters sind an der Nase jede Menge Gewürze zu finden. Dazu die volle Bandbreite Ester-Power, aber auch der Höhe ABV lässt sich nicht leugnen. Am Gaumen schon ziemlich adstringierend, würzig, jede Menge Ester und sehr intensiv. Spannende Abfüllung.
