How does this rum taste?
Don Q Puerto Rican Rum Gold Label (1980s) offers a fascinating glimpse into history with its rich blend of vanilla, orange peel, iodine, oak, and a hint of smokiness in its aroma. Aged for three years and crafted from molasses at the renowned Destilería Serrallés in Puerto Rico, its tasting profile reveals notes of orange peel, chocolate, bitter tobacco, and crisp apple. Our RumX community appreciates its unique historical character and evolving complexity, even if some find the flavor profile a bit polarizing. This rum provides an authentic sensory journey that reflects decades of tradition and offers a treat for those interested in exploring the legacy of fine Puerto Rican spirits.

5,8:On the nose, we first notice a leather, a wood is spicy, there is a vanilla, from fruits, orange peel and an apple are present. 6,2:On the palate, the attack is quite pleasant with roasted wood notes like caramel, chocolate, smoky and spicy as a molasses brings some tobacco. The fruits are dried, orange peel and apple repeated from the nose. 5,6:The finish is medium long, thin with same fruits, wood spices, caramel and a bit metallic...
