How does this rum taste?
The Guadeloupe SFGB rum, produced at Bellevue distillery and bottled by Excellence Rhum, is a cask strength molasses rum distilled in 1998 and aged for 19 years. Its aromatic profile features notes of vanilla, nutmeg, prunes, and wood, while the palate reveals spicy, woody, and intense flavors, with pronounced hints of vanilla and prunes. Explosion in the mouth
Another very nice rum we tried yesterday and I need to get one for my shelves. The nose is very nice and fruity with spices and it's there from the time you open the bottle. The palate is warm and sharp with alcohol, so I had to let it rest for a while before continuing. Some may want to add a drop or two of water. Less fruity than the nose but nice vanilla and barrel on top. The finish is long and warm with a nice mix of barrel, vanilla and raisin.
Typical Damoiseau profile. It is very good, but maybe not reduced enough, the spiciness is there, too bad.
Nose delicious. Explodes flavorfully in the mouth. Nice complexity. Alcohol not perfectly balanced and bordering on musty wood for me.
