How does this rum taste?
Trinidad is an 8-year-old rum crafted from molasses at the T.D.L distillery and bottled by Compagnie des Indes. Its aroma blends fresh eucalyptus, woody tones, and hints of peaches and grapes, while the palate reveals peppery spice, subtle menthol, and warm raisin notes. Our community on RumX appreciates its accessible, easy-sipping character despite its 43% ABV, making it a delightful introduction to Trinidad’s style. With only 424 bottles released, this limited edition offers both a unique tasting journey and added collectible appeal for rum enthusiasts.

7,8:On the nose, the first impression we get is fresh and fruity with red and yellow fruits like graps, apricots, peaches, tropical with passion fruit, as a wood is roasted with caramel.A molasses brings floral and minty notes. On aeration, the rum is spicy with red pepper and nutty, there is some chocolate, the molasses is earthy, we could find menthol and citrus. 7,5:On the palate, the attack is light with dried fruits like apricots, raisins, citrus, spicy and roasted wood with notes like pepper, vanilla, creamy caramel, cream toffee, brown sugar, as the molasses is floral, fresh. After resting the rum, it becomes metallic, perhaps a bit sulphurous, there are faint industrial notes with tar, rubber, also menthol. Tannins and meaty notes arise with next wave of our tasting. 7,6:The finish is medium long, dry with spicy and roasted wood notes, a bit tannic, dried apricots, yellow fruits, faint industrial notes like rubber, tar, as the molasses is minty, floral..
Surprising drinking strength single cask here from CDI. Surprisingly expressive for only 8y and also very drinkable and accessible thanks to the 43%. Dried apricot, sulphurized raisins, grape, honey and eucalyptus, as well as oak wood and pink pepper come together very pleasantly here. Medium-long finish. Not a revelation but tasty and a nice introduction to TDL that doesn't overwhelm.
70€ bon...
