Master of Malt South Pacific Fijian Rum
Funky, punchy, and packed with tropical fruit—amazing value and character for the price.
Aroma bursts with pineapple, creme brulee, coffee, and a touch of funk, while the palate delivers bitter orange, dark chocolate, tropical fruit, and hints of rubber. Reviewers rave about its "great punchiness, complexity and interesting flavours" (Jack M) and its "brilliant...funky" profile that "goes down very easy" even at 61% ABV (Leslie Haigh). Its value is often highlighted—"puts a lot of expensive rums to shame" (Kieron Wood)—while some note a slightly "industrial" edge or unexpected aftertaste. This pour is a hit for lovers of powerful, fruity, and funky sippers at a stellar price.

13 years old 61%AVB 2009 is the year... it was distilled By south Pacific Available at master of malt UK 273 bottles Available It's a brilliant rum nice and funky.. not much afterburn ..to say how strong it is Gose down very easy... price 49 UK pounds Very good value puts a lot of expensive rums to shame Beat Fijian rum I had so far
Very complex and industrial but sweet. Like a continental aged PM with some funk. Now tasting at 48%: still very powerful. 99% dark chocolate on nose and especially dry chocolate roasted finish. Rubber and coffee. Really quite a beast, but somehow not 8.5+ due to ferocity. Amazing value. Also rumour that Fiji casks are disappearing so glad to have it.
Tasted 27-10-2024 This is an incredible rum for the price which is why it scores so high .
Lots of sweet grassy sugarcane flavours, very estery with the intensity tamed by toffeeish notes from the cask, juicy pineapple, some herbaceous notes, slight aniseed, a feeling of creaminess. This is an absolute banger of a rum, and for £49.99 it’s a steal!
