How does this rum taste?
Planteray Spain (PX Cask Finish) offers a unique Spanish twist on aged rum. With enticing aromas of vanilla, caramel, and sherry, and flavors that blend sweet, nutty, and earthy notes with hints of butterscotch, this rum has sparked varied feedback from our community. Some RumX members appreciate its distinct Spanish PX cask finish and layered aroma, while others find the sherry prominence and thinner body less appealing. Crafted by Maison Ferrand from 2012 and aged for 12 years, it remains a conversation starter for those seeking a distinct and unconventional spirit.

Very thin, hardly any character of its own
Sweet, sherry, smoky wood notes. Not really my taste.
Rather a disappointing Planteray from Spain from the year 2012. Tastes very much like sherry and also recognizable in the nose. Therefore also a little sweet which doesn't suit my taste. Also a little woody on the palate
Sweet and lots of sherry, a little smoky and slightly earthy and reminiscent of cold coffee with cigarettes. I didn't have too high expectations of a rum from Spain and in a PX cask at that. Not bad but really nothing special either.
