How does this rum taste?
Most love its balance of wood, menthol and tropical fruit with zero sugar. A few find the oak and dryness dominant. Consensus: a characterful, complex yet accessible New Grove reference.
If you enjoy dry, slightly woody profiles like Foursquare or TDL with a minty twist, this New Grove keeps the alcohol gentle while giving you plenty of character to explore.
Lovers of sweet, rounded rums or those who dislike dry, woody finishes and menthol/tea notes; anyone expecting an ultra-soft 40% crowd‑pleaser.

#4905 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Balanced, light wood, faint roasted, dried fruit, spices, faint earthy, light cinnamon, faint caramel. Palate Round, oily, balanced, light wood, light roasted, dried fruit, light caramel, faint nutts, spices, light tea, berries, faint mint. Finish Medium to long, balanced, light wood, fruits, light berries, light caramel, spice, faint mint, light herbal. This is a really nice bottling and I liked it a lot. Really well balanced profile and I think most can drink it.
New grove is a brand I like more and more. This cuvée is more than pleasant. I find some similarities here with certain fruity cherry tdl's, mentholated freshness, caramel... It's greedy, with an accessible complexity.
Wood dominates this rum, on every level. Mentholated and spicy notes accompany it. Dried fruit and cinnamon too. The alcohol is at a parsit level for me and is nicely integrated. A fruity trait that I can't quite identify. Very pleasant
A New Grove that clearly plays the gourmet card. Accessible, generous, it seduces right from the nose with its woody notes. Highly concentrated aromas on the palate, without any aggressiveness, with a light menthol that quickly fades away. Never disappointed with this type of product.
