#4931 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Balanced, wood, light roasted, faint anise, dried fruit, faint citrus, faint caramel, light earthy. Palate Oily, fresh, balanced, wood, light roasted, medium dry, spice, light citrus, light tobacco, light plum. Finish Long, balance, oily, medium dry, light wood, light roasted, dried fruit, faint plum, faint caramel.
3rd GAF Stuttgart This bottling was also a nice find at Emile's Catawiki stand. I think this bottling is once again very successful, everything you would expect from a Demerara. But for the price that's being asked again, it's definitely not worth it for me, which I think is a shame.
A rather pleasant, no-nonsense Uitvlugt. The nose is pleasantly fruity, with pear, peach, dried fruit and citrus. The wood is not overpowering, leaving more room for spices (aniseed, vanilla), pastry and toasted notes. The whole is soft and balanced. The structure of the nose is echoed on the palate, with dried fruit, citrus, tobacco, roasted wood, spices and pastry caramel. The rum has an oily texture on the palate, but leaves a rather dry trail in the background. The profile is not unpleasant, but the whole lacks a little richness and complexity. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is moderately long. The Demerara profile comes through a little more, with sugar, spices, roasted notes and dried fruit on the prune. The aftertaste remains dry but fragrant. A pleasant rum to sip and easy to approach, but a little limited compared with expectations of an old Uitvlugt from the last century.

Un bon représentant du style Demerara Uitvlugt en tropical et continental aging. 👃 Bois, épices douces, anis, réglisse, taille de crayon, odeur de cuisson de fruits pochés (jaunes et blancs), carambole légère, citron jaune confit, vanille. 😋 Boisé, fruits pochés (pêche, poire, prune), agrumes légères, poivre rose, fraîcheur du tabac blond, vanille sèche, miel crémeux de fleurs, anis étoilé léger, sécheresse de la craie, pâtisseries à base de biscuits rose de Reims. Équilibre des saveurs.
