#5000 25.12.2024 Enjoying two good samples to celebrate tasting number 5000. Nose Wood, light roasted, light tar, faint rubber, light mint, light cherry, light floral, light caramel. Palate Wood, tannins, roasted, light tar, light rubber, warm, dried fruit, oily, petrol, light mint, spicy, faint floral, smoke. Finish Very long and warm, wood, tannins, raisin, light cherry, medium spicy, light tar, faint rubber, smoke. The empty glass has wood, tannins, menthol and light herbal notes. Needs to rest for a good while to really open up. Draws really nice curtains in the glass.
A lot of pleasure on this Caroni, quite soft, a little rubbery but above all a lot of fruit, blackberry, blackcurrant, apricot, maybe even mirabelle plum. A hint of menthol, wood that doesn't overpower the palate. Very pleasant, fresh, long. Edit: the gum and rubber notes stayed on the palate for over 3 hours, impressive length.
