How does this rum taste?
RumX members keep coming back to fresh pineapple, lively esters, young wood, and touches of banana in this 13-year LROK from Hampden and Velier. Expect big fruit and some wild energy—Daniel Chmelíček calls it "mladé, divoké a chutné," while Michael Schou points out its strong taste and that it “does not taste like most of the offer LROK mark Hampdens." The mouthfeel delivers bold pineapple and freshness, with wood that stays light, but several note the finish is on the shorter side.

Whisky Live Paris 2024 (trade fair evaluation, only overall rating and personal recommendation to buy): Overall still the best bottling of the second magnum series, but not outstanding. I don't have to have a bottle of it.
20-04-2025 - Rate 8.3 What can I say. Love Hampden and this one is no different. Strong taste and eater note. Does not taste like most of the offer LROK mark Hampdens I have tasted. A powerful LROK.
A rum tasted at Whisky Live in Paris in 2024. A powerful pineapple nose, with light wood and esters. The pineapple is also very pronounced on the palate, but with freshness and elegant wood. The finish is short. A delicious rum, but difficult to rate. Should we note the pleasure it offers (great) or its (lack of) originality?
