How does this rum taste?
Providence Haiti Pure Single Rhum leans into fresh sugarcane, honeyed sweetness, and gentle fruit notes—banana and raspberry often get shout-outs. The nose is "fresh, medium intense, fruity, banana, spice, sugarcane" (Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰), while the palate stays "sweet, spicy, slightly herbal" (Florent Apl). Most tasters appreciate the rum’s balance and finesse, though the finish is typically described as short or thin. If you’re into subtle spice, honey, and a dash of vegetal earthiness, this bottle seems to match that vibe.

I really didn't expect much from this bottling. I also didn't know that it was stored in a Caroni cask. O.k. I can't taste any of that now, it's more of a hint than a taste. In conclusion, for me it's really okay for the price. Those who like the Vieux from Providence will also be well advised here.
#4854 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Fresh, medium intense, fruity, banana, spice, sugarcane, light medicinal, faint clove. Palate Warm, medium intense, oily, light honey, light sugarcane, fruity, ginger, spice, light anise, faint vegetal. Finish Long and warm, faint wood, fruits, pineapple, oily, light citrus, ginger, light herbal.
Very exciting profile - I really like it. Only the finish is a bit flat.
I was really looking forward to this sample from Zabo! Unfortunately, the rum is a disappointment for me... can't keep up with the other bottlings at all. Very flat, almost meaningless... No recommendation to buy
