How does this rum taste?
La Cour Foundation from Isautier (Réunion, 2009) leans right into red fruit and stone fruit territory — think peaches, apricot, blackberries, and even mango. Several reviewers point out a sense of balance between "cire, abricot, pêche, cognac" and a lightly vegetal finish (@TheJackDrop). The cognac cask is noticeable for most, as is a gentle mineral edge and some fresh, lightly woody undertones. As @Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰 puts it, the nose is "balanced, light wood, fruits, berries, faint honey, light vegetal," while the palate brings "round, light cognac, light vegetal, faint wood." #4940 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Balanced, light wood, fruits, berries, faint honey, light vegetal, faint mineral. Palate Round, light cognac, light vegetal, faint wood, fruits, berries, light mineral, faint caramel, light sugarcane. Finish Medium long, fresh, light wood, berries, faint caramel, light citrus, sugarcane, light vegetal.
Eher auf der floralen Seite, aber sehr intensiv.
Notes issues du Whisky Live Paris 2024 - à revoir et approfondir. Premier coup de coeur du salon (hors blanc) ! une intensité aromatique folle, un fut de cognac que d'habitude j'adore et qui a fait mouche direct pour moi. Cire, abricot, pêche, cognac, un petit côté minéral et salé pour contrebalancé et rajouter de la complexité. Prix un petit élevé pour moi en ce moment, qui m'a empêcher de passer à la caisse, mais je vais surement en reprendre en samples.
