How does this rum taste?
The Rumclub Private Selection Navy Blend (KaDeWe Selection) is a limited release rum, expertly crafted from a blend of rums distilled from molasses across multiple countries, aged between 3 and 26 years. With only 120 bottles available, this 51% ABV spirit is a rare find. Users noted its aroma as fruity, sweet, and citrusy, with a complex flavor profile dominated by citrus and barrel notes. Some appreciated its Jamaican, Guyanese, and Barbadian elements, though the taste was described as slightly thin and metallic by several reviewers. The rum gained praise for its fruity nose and floral undertones but faced criticism for its lack of complexity and slightly harsh finish, making it suitable for collectors and Navy blend enthusiasts alike.

The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.

Well-made blend, very round. Some Worthy Park and Trinidad can be tasted. A little alcoholic in the finish, could be more complex.
Overall a really nice Navy sipper. You can clearly find the components from Jamaica, Guyana and Barbados. Personally I think it is a bit too sweet and some additional bitterness from Guyana (root juice?) would be great. But then again it was an exklusive for the KaDeWe. So I am pretty sure their targeted audience will love it.
The KaDeWe Navy blend reminds me strongly of the Next Generation Navy blend (Ed. 37), which was more focused on the fruity notes from Jamaica and Barbados. It's the same here. Differences in the slightly higher ABV of the KaDeWe blend I would probably only recognize in a direct comparison. I remain of the opinion that other navy blends such as the Pusser's Dockyard Reserve with the pronounced Maggi spice simply appeal to me more, as they are closer to the original bottlings.
Probably has nothing at all to do with the old Navi Blend, which was highly praised. This one is actually a waste of time. Many thanks to FischeJ for letting us try it. As KaDeWe, they probably only chose it to rip off tourists and poured the discarded barrels together at the RumClub. Big profit margin in sight.
