How does this rum taste?
Blended Trinidad Rum, produced at Trinidad's Caroni distillery, is a limited release selected by Velier. Distilled in 1988 from molasses using a Column Still and aged for 15 years, this rum offers a unique profile. Tasting notes highlight aromas of tar and vanilla, with flavors of roasted and woody undertones. While praised for its smooth, caramel-like sweetness, some users note it diverges from traditional Caroni expressions, resembling lighter Spanish rums in complexity. Its 43% ABV provides a refined tasting experience, though some may find it lacks the depth typical of Caroni releases. Overall, it presents a softer, sweeter side to Caroni's usual palette.

Epic Velier Caroni Tasting 2023: Lags somewhat behind the other releases, partly due to the dilution and partly due to the blended profile, which comes across as somewhat colorless overall with its light notes due to the reduction to drinking strength. Typical LTR sweetness meets very subtle HTR notes. Doesn't pick me up enough in direct comparison.
Epic Velier Caroni Tasting: Very diluted, few Caroni notes, quaffable, little complexity, tastes almost like a Spaniard.
