Wolfgang Klotz Spirits Travellers Belizean Rum 2008
Most love the sweet, chocolate‑coconut, toffee and oak combo with well-hidden 66%. Critics find it slightly too sweet, a bit simple and short. Consensus: strong, tasty Belize, not a complexity monster.
Fans of sweet, dark, bourbon‑like sippers who enjoy cask‑strength rum with coconut, chocolate, toffee and oak, and want a muscular but still approachable Belize profile.

How does this rum taste?
Sweet, dark, bourbon‑style cask strength Belize
If you enjoy RumClub Belize or bourbon‑leaning, cask‑strength rums, this is an easy pick: big chocolate‑coconut sweetness, plenty of wood and spice, just don’t expect Hampden‑level complexity.
Beginners or anyone sensitive to high ABV or sweetness, and drinkers specifically chasing extreme complexity or long, evolving finishes.
Recht adstringierend.

Debut of Wolfgang Klotz as an independent bottler. A typical Belize? It arrives with a lot of steam, at least on the nose, and needs time to catch its breath. At first, it is strongly reminiscent of the almost classic FRC from 2006, with typical coconut, vanilla and oak, plus more and more sweet fruit notes. Surprisingly sweet on the palate, the brute strength is definitely there but is well balanced by the sweetness and makes this rum extremely drinkable.
Man erahnt schon kernigkeit. Geschmacklich wirklich lecker. Tolle Arbeit!
