How does this rum taste?
High-ester overripe tropical fruit leaps from the glass, followed by intriguing nutty and roasted notes—think bacon, citrus, and a touch of olive. Multiple RumX reviewers praise its balance of intense fermentation, fruit schnapps character, and gentle alcoholic heat, especially for an unaged rum. 8,3:On the nose, the first impression we get is estery with overripe tropical fruits, vegetal molasses with an olive, nutty with an almond and some bacon. On aeration, citrus is out, cookie dough, yeast notes, a pinch of spice, pleasant banana, litchi, pineapple, dried figs, raisins. After well rested, the rum goes toward fruit schnapps feeling. 7,9:On the palate, the attack is strong, fermented, with citrus, especially an orange, like we are drinking fruit schnapps. Then some roasted notes could be noticed, with bacon, nuts. The fruits are also overripe tropical, more like an undercurrant. The molasses is vegetal with the olive, hay, a bit spicy, mineral. After resting, there are dried fruits and more&more notes towards bitter orange vodka. 7,9:The finish is long, dry and fruity with tropical, dried and citrus fruits, bitter orange stands out. Some spicy and roasted notes are present, hazelnut especially, as with long rest, we taste strong bread note..
Verkostet auf dem GRF 2024. Toller ungelagerter High Ester Rum.
