How does this rum taste?
Reviewers love how this 70.8% cask strength sips with balance: alcohol is impressively integrated, revealing nutty, malty and woody bourbon-cask tones. Aromas hint at vanilla and Calvados; the palate layers estery fruit with bitter orange, honeyed nuts and light brine, finishing oily, waxy and medium-long. Well received by 10 RumX members, it’s a bold young German rum many enjoy exploring, with value noted.

8,2:On the nose, the first impression we get is a bit different as usually with almost no fruit attack, but fresh, as we notice roasted wood notes as nuts, spicy vanilla, malt, cereal. On aeration, confectionery notes are, caramel, chocolate, perhaps notes of calvados and becomes a bit waxy, after real rest, we find pine.... 8,3:On the palate, the attack is fruity, a bit alcoholic, as we taste notes like juice wodka with esters, so an orange is a bit bitter. The wood is roasted, sweet with honeyed nuts, later crunchy bread, spicy vanilla, malt, cereal here again with molasses and an olive, brine. When well rested yellow and dried fruits arise. 8,1:The finish is medium long, dry and waxy, a bit smoky with roasted wood notes, fruity with bitter orange. Very good alcohol integration..
