How does this rum taste?
Rhum Vieux Traditionnel from Savanna Distillery, Reunion, is a 7-year-old molasses-based rum distilled using a column still and bottled at 43% ABV. It offers a captivating bouquet with intense woody, fruity, oak, vanilla, and brandy aromas. On the palate, notes of oak, tropical fruit, menthol, spices, and wood delight the senses. While some users praise its elegant blend and complexity, a few find it overly sharp and lacking depth. Its lengthy oak finish and hints of smokiness leave a lasting impression. Ideal for enthusiasts seeking a complex yet approachable Old-World style rum, Rhum Vieux from Reunion presents a harmonious blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern flair.

We had a great tasting today and here are the results.
Rhum moyen avec un nez très marqué sur le produit solvant ou colle en bâton. Peu d’arôme mis tertiaires en bouche. Assez déçu pour un vieillissement de 7 ans.
This is the first solid element in the range. It's true that I'm not a big fan of old Reunionese, but this is a fine marriage of wood, fruit, menthol and apple, and I really enjoyed this bottle.
Eleganter Rum, 7 Jahre, aus la reunion, etwas holzig und würzig mit Trockenpflaume Note. Sehr langer komplexer Abgang mit einer leichten Rauch Note
