"I was having a big expectations which were not fulfilled. Don't get me wrong this is great rum but hearing about how awesome it is all the time, I was expecting more. Now, onto the nose- vanilla, lot's of wood; oak to be precise. Palate- Oily, round sweetness of vanilla and oak barrel with slight hint of banana at the end and a bit of spiciness. Finish is medium long. Really nice rum if you have a chance to buy it around 30€. I bought mine for 28 for which I consider it an excelent rum for such price. I will need to revisit the review and the rating in the future. Revisiting: this time I sense fruitiness overall underlined with sour taste of green apple. Pulling it down from 74 to 70. Definitely over-rated for me. Highlight is the mid-long finish."

"Doorly's 12 year old rum comes from the Foursquare distillery in Barbados. A rum aged for 12 years, 90% in bourbon barrels, the rest in Madeira. Unflavored and unsweetened, it is dry and woody. It is pleasant and easy to drink without being exceptional."

"The smell is mostly dried fruit and alcohol, with some artificial Vanilla. A little off-putting. The taste is much better. Nice balance between dried dark fruits, vanilla, oak, spice, and some of the boozy molasses flavor. The alcohol and molasses lingers on the finish"
