To Depaz
"Tasted with the Depaz XO prestige, it is better in the mouth and the finish is more interesting despite a lower price. The nose is less interesting than the XO. In mouth a peaty side absent in the nose, dried fruits and tropical fruits. The finish is floral with violet."
"Blind Tasting. Had guessed an Agricole from Martinique, but J. M.. On the nose I smell something like freshly limed wall and some owl, on the palate I taste smoky, floral notes. The rhum seems dry, the finish is long. An honest Agricole, I like. Update 2023-07-04: Re-tastings like this after some time are a fine thing. Can you find out nicely whether the taste has evolved, refined. And whether certain preferences have solidified. With this rum I can say: Full confirmation of the previous assessment abundant half a year ago. And additionally, surprisingly, jelly-filled Christmas cookies on the nose. Therefore, even one point more. Yummy!"
"Tried a few Depazzes this week. Was looking forward trying this one; the only vintage of the lot. Nose: peaches. Mango. Marzipan. Almonds among others. Wow great start. Complex and tasty. Taste: very fruity, dry. Bitter. Overripe peaches. Wood(spices). Cognac. French oak tannins. Hint of freshness. The woodiness might be a bit too much for some but is quite common among older Agricoles. It's quite bitter too. But the fruitiness ties it to a nice and complex whole. Got a 6cl sample. Will drink a second glass later in time."
"Great Agricole with a very drinkable appearance. Sure such super suitable for Agricole beginners."
