We are slowly approaching the highlight ester range with Dr Hampden 8 Marks Collection 1 year. You can already clearly smell and taste the ester in the Diamond. Then there are the tropical fruits, as is usually the case ;-)
Wonderfully rich nose. Bright fruits and a beautiful sweetness. An almost restrained fruitiness on the palate. But definitely an exciting complexity with a good punch on the finish. Wow ... This one shakes.
Die Nummer Fünf der Hampden Acht Marks Collection ist bereits in der Nase wieder sehr fruchtig voll von tropischen Früchten. Natürlich darf auch der Ester Anteil nicht fehlen. Insgesamt ein schöner Rum
<>H hat wie DOK eine nahezu identische Esterzusammensetzung, aber deutlich weniger Ester. D.h. viel saure Frucht, etwas Florales und Beeren. Das Fass hat hier größere Mengen an Syringole und Eugenole eingebracht, wodurch Düfte von nassem Holz und Nelken erzeugt werden. Die Nelken habe ich jetzt nicht erkannt, dafür Honig, Holz und etwas Schokolade (Furfurale/Whisky Lactone).
