How does this rum taste?
The Pure Single Rum from Jamaica's Clarendon Distillery, selected by Valinch & Mallet, presents a rich, aromatic profile with 13 years of ageing. Distilled from molasses and bottled at an ABV of 56.6%, this limited release (only 334 bottles) blends notes of pineapple, medicinal hints, herbal tones, and woody nuances. Users highlight its balanced yet delicate nature, with fruity and herbal notes leading its character, making it accessible yet complex. Ideal for those seeking to explore Jamaican rum's unique terroir without overpowering robustness, while still offering a playful, funky aroma typical of the region. The integration of alcohol and a relatively mellow finish make it an approachable choice for rum connoisseurs.

#4749 22.06.2024 Nice tasting afternoon and evening with Hannes at the shop in Odense. Nose Light wood, fruity, pineapple, light herbs, faint medicinal, funk. Palate Light oily, light wood, balanced, light earthy, light herbs, pineapple, fruity, warm, light caramel. Finish Long and warm, light wood, faint mint, light leather, light herbs, light iodine.
Extremely much varnish, astringent, bitterness.
A surprisingly funky nose with gentle esters that transport us straight to Jamaica, but without the spicy, heavy power of the Hampdens. Here, it's all about delicacy, with notes of fresh pineapple and tart green apple. It's all about the fruit, and it's very greedy. On the palate, it's still delicious, but without the liveliness of esters. This rum is ideal for discovering the special terroir of Jamaican rums, without offending the most sensitive palates. The alcohol is very well integrated. There's a profusion of exotic fruits: pineapple, papaya, passion fruit and a touch of mango. Mild spices like cinnamon and a little clove, which gives it a medicinal edge, soften the palate. The finish is medium-light, with a very light woodiness and a little fruitiness.
My tongue is is so squeezed.. maybe esthers?
