How does this rum taste?
The Wagemut Connecticut Shade (Aficionado Collection) is a Jamaican rum selected by independent bottler N. Kröger and distilled from molasses with an ABV of 42.8%. A blend of tropical and fruity aromas with funky esters, it delivers a fruity palate, punctuated by vinegar and apricot notes. The sweetness of the profile appeals, though, to some, it feels overwhelming. While it's praised for being beginner-friendly with a smooth alcohol integration, many note an imbalance due to excessive sweetness and acidity. Ideal when paired with a cigar, this rum leaves drinkers divided on its harmonious execution.

Der wohl perfekte Einsteiger Jamaikaner…allerdings nicht bei dem Preis. Liegt evtl aber auch am Fass, das durchaus interessant ist. Geschmacklich finde ich die intensive Fruchtbombe sehr angenehm. Das Ester erfüllt seinen Zweck. Aber leider auch sehr süß, so dass der durchaus leckere Geschmack gleich weg ist. Wie gesagt…für Einsteiger und die süßere Fraktion sehr gut, für mich deutlich zu süß. Alkohol ist perfekt eingebunden.
Ausgeprägte Citrusnoten, Frucht Apricose in der Nase, im Mund schön rund, fast übertrieben fruchtig in toller Abstimmung mit dem Wagemut. Schöner Abgang
In der Nase schöne fruchtige Ester Noten, könnte ein WPE sein. Am Gaumen dann wieder zähflüssige, süße, likörartige Konsistenz, extrem rund, durch die high Ester trotzdem viel fruchtiger Geschmack, vor allem Pfirsich und Aprikose, aber durch den Zucker natürlich sehr glattgebügelt. Abgang mittellang. Für Einsteiger sicher ein guter Rum.
Zudem rum finde ich kein zugang. Was soll das denn darstellen? Vielleicht funktioniert es mit einer (schlechten?) zigarre? Viel Säure und die noten eines fuseligen aprikosenlikörs. Ich hab mich geschüttelt.
