How does this rum taste?
The Wagemut Connecticut Shade (Aficionado Collection) is a Jamaican rum selected by independent bottler N. Kröger and distilled from molasses with an ABV of 42.8%. A blend of tropical and fruity aromas with funky esters, it delivers a fruity palate, punctuated by vinegar and apricot notes. The sweetness of the profile appeals, though, to some, it feels overwhelming. While it's praised for being beginner-friendly with a smooth alcohol integration, many note an imbalance due to excessive sweetness and acidity. Ideal when paired with a cigar, this rum leaves drinkers divided on its harmonious execution.

Aprikose trifft auf eine ziemlich dominante Essig-Note. Angenehme Trinkstärke. Interessantes Experiment.
Der zweite der drei probieren Wagemut mit den Nachgenutzten Fässern, hier das Kastanienfass und nicht mit Barbados sondern Jamaika-Rum. Nase: ja, unverkennbar Jamaika, mit Ester, Zitrone, Banane und Ananas mit einer Soße von Ananas-Marzipan und Honig. Dazu noch etwas Essig und Brioche. Alles in Allem angenehm. 7,2 Gaumen: unangenehm künstlich süß und sehr sauer, was ist da denn passiert? Schmeckt zunächst nur nach saurem Zitronen-Sirup mit ganz viel Zuckersirup. Mit viel gutem Willen kommen dahinter noch Banane und Ananas. Da muss ich leider sagen: sehr schlecht und den viel zu hohen Preis nicht wert. 2,0
Ausgeprägte Citrusnoten, Frucht Apricose in der Nase, im Mund schön rund, fast übertrieben fruchtig in toller Abstimmung mit dem Wagemut. Schöner Abgang
Zudem rum finde ich kein zugang. Was soll das denn darstellen? Vielleicht funktioniert es mit einer (schlechten?) zigarre? Viel Säure und die noten eines fuseligen aprikosenlikörs. Ich hab mich geschüttelt.
