"... The Old Velier Demerara rum is the best thing you can taste in the rum world. The rums were aged in the tropics for several years by mistake and nobody refilled the barrel. The Andel tax was 90% or more, which is why the taste is especially full and intense. Even though it is an extra expensive product, I recommend to taste a rum from this series at least once in your life."

Big demerara profile of nuts, vanilla, coconut, cooked sugar, it's woody but pleasant and greedy. On the palate, it follows the same pattern, which is very good. So verdict: very, very good, but not necessarily better than other, less hard-to-find dark demerara. So very happy to be able to share this bottle for "only" 600€ 😅, tomorrow if I come across it again at the same price, I'd rather take 1 diamond CBH + 1 Skeldon + 1 Albion from El Dorado, all 3 are at the same level, or so equivalent..."
