7,3:On the nose, the first impression we get are dried fruits, like raisins, apricots and some orange peel and toasted coconut. The wood is roasted and nutty. Surely sherry maturation is well noticed. When aired a bit, we get vegetal notes, tobacco and is dry. Some dark chocolate, cocoa and caramel turn out, as it becomes a bit alcoholic... 7,4:On the palate, the attack is soft and sherried. There are dried fruits like raisins, apricots and prunes. The wood is spicy with cinnamon and there are nuts, chocolate, vanilla, leather and some tobacco, toasted coconut. After some rest, molasses are darker with some licorice, gingerbread, honeyed and caramelized, mineral, vegetal. The fruits are tropical, as banana appears. 7,6:The finish is quite long, woody, dry, tasty with dried, tropical fruits, spicy. The palate notes linger on here for some time also...
I didn’t know this rum yet, never heard of it. It was a surprising gift, but my first Siboney. Nothing extraordinary in this class, but not bad. Pleasant nose, fine caramel on palate. Why not, cheers!!!
